Section A
(for SectionA voters only)

YES to Cait Regan–Cottreau
Hello Section A! I'm Cait Regan-Cottreau and I'm running for Section A Rep. I'd like to give you some information about why I'd like this position.

I'm qualified: I served two terms as a Vice President on the Acadia Students' Union. While it was a different school, I was a full-time representative and oversaw things like the school's social clubs, student-community engagement, and constitutional overhauls. You'd think I'd had enough, but...

I'm passionate: while constitutions and student politics might not pique everyone's interest, they do grab mine. Seriously, I do actually find this stuff interesting.

I'm dedicated: I was always taught that you do something well or not at all, and I am committed to continuing my dedication to student politics as Section A Rep.

Besides... no one else wants the job! (Can you believe it?) So, next week, please vote YES to Cait Regan-Cottreau for Section A Rep.

NO to Cait Regan–Cottreau

Section B
(for SectionB voters only)

Christy Meredith
Hello Section B:

My reasons for running for LSS Section B rep are simple.

First, I want everyone in Section B to know that their comments and ideas regarding how the Weldon community should operate are important. I want you all to know that I will keep your interests in mind and I want you all to have a voice in how the law society should be run.

Furthermore, I want to ensure that everyone in Section B is up to date with all the events and activities offered by the LSS. I will achieve this by making in-class announcements, in addition to utilizing technology, such as facebook and e-mail.

So, why should you vote for me?

The answer is clear: I am a welcoming, ambitious, multi-tasking individual who has much more to offer than just being legally blonde.

Nick Carmichael
My name is Nick Carmichael and I am running for the 1L Section B rep to the DALLSS. If you vote for me you are voting for a STRONG ADVOCATE who will bring the particular issues facing the students in Section B to the attention of the Law Student's Society, the Faculty, and the Dean.

I will speak with AN ARTICULATE VOICE when I persuasively argue for change where policy is stale and outdated.

I am an EXPERIENCED CANDIDATE who will bring the skills I learned working as an assistant to a Member of Provincial Parliament in Ontario. One of my roles was to serve as a liaison between constituents with various problems and the appropriate Provincial Ministries. I have first-hand experience with this kind of work.

Thank you for taking the time to come out and vote, and I hope you give me the opportunity to represent our section at the DALLSS!

Section C
(for SectionC voters only)

Caitlin Urquhart
Keeping You Connected!

I am determined to provide students in Section C with opportunities to network within our section and beyond. By participating in a variety of social events, students will make lasting friendships and expand their social networks. Whether in the LSS office, between classes or at Domus, I intend to provide an open, relaxed setting where we can discuss any issues, concerns or ideas that you feel should be raised to the LSS or the administration (for example, lengthening library hours). I can keep you informed about services that you can access, events and speakers that can enrich your education and extra curriculars that can enhance your life! I plan to keep Section C connected with our colleagues, integrated into Dal culture and well represented at Weldon. Please vote Caitlin Urquhart to keep connected to your social network.

Cheers,
Caitlin

Dear Section C Students,
As 'first year' students, we are by definition new to the Schulich school of law: Friendships are being cultivated and we are slowly becoming familiarized with the goings on of the school. But let`s face it, these relationships are in their formative stages and our knowledge of school policies and how they will come to affect our lives over the next three years is sparse. Yet, we are being asked to elect a candidate- whom we do not know much about- to act as our representative to the LSS- the affairs and policies of which we are relatively ignorant. Talk about a tough job! Well I`m in the same boat. I do not know many of you as well as I would like, nor am I aware of the manifold ways in which our lives are going to affected, for better or worse, by the policies of the school and student government. However, I can say with complete confidence that, if elected as your LSS rep., I will do my utmost to inform you of the issues and policies that affect, or will be affecting you. Furthermore, I will tirelessly advocate on your behalf. Be informed and be heard. Thank you for considering my candidacy.

Yours Sincerely,

Christian Brands

YES to Alexandra Schwarz
I am really excited to be running for this position. I am looking forward to making a positive contribution to the school and the student body by acting as a liaison between my peers, the LSS and faculty. I hope to get to know more people in the school community and raise issues important to my peers. I have had a phenomenal time at Dal so far, and am excited to play a more active role behind the scenes. I encourage everyone to vote! ☺

YES to Alec Young
Alec Young is here to represent YOU! No matter what your interest or cause, Alec Young will fight for it. Want Margaret to start serving milkshakes in the lounge? Want Dean Kim Brooks to legally change her first name to Mel? Want the library moved two feet to the left? Alec Young will do his best to make it happen.

Alec Young is willing to buy your votes with hugs. Unless your name is Dave Abrams, in which case, he will hug you for free.

Alec Young will even stop referring to himself in the third person if you ask him to stop. Which is probably a good idea.

Alec is excited to be sharing rep duties with Mr. Dan Manchee and Ms. Alex Schwarz. Whatever we can do to make your second year a good one, we'll do our best to make it happen.

Jocelin d'Entremont
Hi, my name is Jocelin d'Entremont, I'm in 3rd year at the Schulich School of Law.

I am running for 3L rep. I hope to bring openness and transparency to students while dealing with the LSS.

As you know, you can almost always find me around campus (Read: Library [Read: Mayor of the Library]), and more than ready to listen to any concerns you may have.

Thank you

Sara D Gardezi
Hey class of 2012,
I humbly ask that you vote for me in the upcoming LSS Election. I am approachable, I care about the school, our learning, but most of I care about you all. You are my friends, and for 8 months out of the year, my family as well. You were there for me during the most challenging years of my life, and it is because of your love and support that I am here today writing this blurb. I cannot personally return all the love, the friendships and the favors, however, I can make this last year of our journey together happier, and more fun. I want us to spend more time together and be less exclusive. Let's go do things together that will bring us closer, so when we're ready to go our separate ways, we know that we shared something amazing and magical. Thanks, Gardezi!!!
