Troubleshooting
Having trouble? Here are some of the common error messages and what to do about them.

• Authentication failed. Ensure that your login information is entered correctly.
  1. The name must be entered in the form "FirstName(s) LastName" using the name that appears on your student card. The order on the student card is "LastName, FirstName(s)", so check the order very carefully.
  2. The birthdate must be in the order mm/dd/yyyy. Slashes are ignored, but the leading 0's are important. (For November 5, 1980, 11/05/1980 = good, 11/5/1980 = bad, 11051980 = good).
  3. The banner ID starts with a B, and has 8 digits after that.
  4. If following the above instructions does not work, please contact Elections Support: support@ivoteonline.com.
  
  
• You must login before using this page.
  1. If you have not already logged in, please do so.
  2. Otherwise, this error indicates that your web browser is not accepting the cookie. Adjust your cookie settings (instructions) or try using a different web browser.
  3. The cookies are set as session cookies, which means they expire when you close your browser or logout. If you had to restart your computer or restart your browser for any reason, you will need to login again.
  
  
• You must specify a name / student ID / birthdate.
  1. You left one of the required fields blank. Try to enter your information again.
  2. Your browser is not properly submitting POST data. Try using a different web browser or a different computer, and make sure you are at the correct URL.
  
  
• User does not exist. Please consult the CRO.
  1. You entered your banner ID incorrectly. Please try again.
  2. You are not eligible to vote in these elections. Contact Elections Support to confirm your voting eligibility.
  
  
• Login expired. Your one hour to vote has ended.
  1. Each voter has 60 minutes after their first login to submit their ballot. After this time, your account is locked and cannot be used again. To have this time reset, please contact elections support.
  2. Very rarely, this error will occur if a cookie is not set properly. Please see "You must login before using this page".
  
  
• You have already voted using a paper ballot.
  1. If you opt to vote using a paper ballot, you will be barred from logging in and/or voting online.
  
  
• Error loading user information from the database.
  1. This message occurs very rarely (actually, so far never in a real election). If it appears,it means there has been a problem connecting to the database. The administrator is automatically notified by yourVote. We apologize for the inconvenience - please return later and try again.
